... so there's been some delays in plans. And maybe a few personal changes.

A.) You can find a relatively tall, white haired teen at clothing stores in Domino, wearing a slightly baggy North Academy jacket. She has a checklist and is going through some bags and marking things off.

B.) You can find this same girl on the island, staring off into the distance, well. Anywhere. She looks familiar...

A pause. ... then a small wave.

"Keeping going still?"

... ... yes? Do I... do I know you?

"Ya do, but I'm kinda... unrecognizable right now.

It's me, Renat."

*gears turning in Sanae's head. they're kinda worn down from sand.*

... oh. ... Wow, you ended up different.

"... Yeah, I know. Pretty sure it was the occult club.

So I'm gonna double down on wrecking them. And maybe find a way to fix this."

... Can you wait a couple weeks?

"... Yeah. I got class stuff to catch up on and research to do anyway.

Wait, are ya offering to help?"

I have something I've been putting off that involves that occult club, and I want to get it done before you start trying to break up their racket.

I have 0 obligation to not help you though after that's all done, so maybe. It depends on what happens.

"... oh. Yeah, that's reasonable.

What are you gonna get done through them, if ya don't mind me asking?"

I'm gonna cure my sand disease.

[frozenperdition]

"...Oh.

Yeah that's real important stuff. I can hold off on that as long as you need me to then. I don't want to mess that up."

Well, it shouldn't be too much longer. I've been having to put it off because the... entire winter basically knocked me off of my feet? I think I passed out for several days at one point. I looked at the calendar and realized it was April now.

But I feel like I can move, so I guess I can go throw caution to the wind again.

[frozenperdition]

"That's good.

... ya want me to come with ya? I won't raise any ruckus, and they may not even know who I am."

... If I remember to warn you, sure.

Cause I might do this sorta spur-of-the-moment. It's very day-to-day judging.

"Yeah, alright. That checks out.

... want me to help carry bags for ya today then? I'm feeling pent up and hanging out with a friendly face seems like a good idea."

Oh.

Fine, I guess that's acceptable. But don't you have your own clothes to worry about?

"Eh, I can carry both. I'll just trim down this list a bit.

I can always make another trip later. You're the one I'm a little worried about, buddy."

There's nothing to worry about. It's just debilitating lifelong disease and existential crisises.

*oh is THAT still going on too.*

"Well, with one getting close to being solved by the occult club, I can at least help with the other one, huh?"

I don't think the existential crisis can be solved.

Also forget I mentioned an existential crisis.

*oh no he's not escaping this time, he has to hang around you now*

"Sorry Sanae, but you're stuck with me today."

She loops an arm around yours.

"I won't bring it up and you can talk to me about it when you're ready, but I ain't going to forget a friend of mine's having a crisis, existential or not."

*oh no. this is very different.*

There's no crisis, don't worry. This is just existing. I'm sure any emotions I might have will be cleared up once I beat up potentially myself in single combat.

She doesn't seem to even notice anything.

"... Is that how you're going to fix yourself?"

Maybe? I'm not too sure about what's gonna happen.

There's a non-zero chance I might just end up a girl, too.
