So, if someone allegedly poked their head where they weren't supposed to with a lackey and then they allegedly saw a fellow student die of sand disease and then allegedly saw a demon in alleged haunted abandoned dorm how would they go about maybe dealing with an alleged demon infestation?

Asking for research for a short story.

Renat is... gathering sand. For a grave. Nothing terrible is going to happen to him.

"Oh, huh.

I figured you had a... different surname."

"... ya alright bud? Ya ain't gonna melt into sand again, are ya?"

No, this is just me being regular everyday mildly sick. Non-sand related.

"Oh.

Ya need help gettin' back to the dorms?"

*he tests his legs a bit. You can tell that they seem stiff in movement.*

... Just walk with me and help in case I find I can't move.

"... yeah, I can do that."

He dusts the sand off of himself.

"Ya, uh. Missed an actual demon."

*cough, cough, but this time out of surprise*

Wait, I did? A real demon?

*damn, I wasn't the scariest thing that night??*

"Yeah. Colly darted, but... I think it was guarding something in the basement of the dorm. Didn't really try and kill me after I left the steps."

Maybe there's a gaping abyss in there, and it protected you.

"Hrm. Maybe. But then I gotta look at that gaping abyss!"

But what if the gaping abyss looks back?

"Then the abyss becomes you."
